Spectators: 7200 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1750, VIP seats: 50) Hauk Refsdal made the kick off and thus started the match. 5 minutes into the match, Brøndby FK's goal looked a bit too open when Hauk Refsdal came free, but Daniel Vikøren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sindre Svanberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tromsø IL's Frode Børsheim got a free kick in the 18th minute. Oscar Netland, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 21st play minute Sindre Svanberg came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kristian Borg. 1-0. Idar Fossdal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Kristian Borg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Vikøren came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Tromsø IL's Hauk Refsdal. But to his dismay, Hauk Refsdal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Kristian Borg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Idar Fossdal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Tromsø IL booed when Brøndby FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Wickstrøm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tromsø IL were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Brøndby FK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ingvar Tharaldsen took the corner. Tromsø IL's Kristian Borg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Idar Fossdal in the 37th minute of play. Sindre Svanberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristian Borg having to make a save. Christian Korsmo's late challenge caught a Tromsø IL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Korsmo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brøndby FK getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Christian Korsmo hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Olav Liabø was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brøndby FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tromsø IL the free kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Idar Fossdal to make the kick off. Daniel Vikøren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hauk Refsdal in the 53rd minute of play. Tromsø IL's Hauk Refsdal got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Idar Fossdal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geir Myrseth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Daniel Vikøren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Geir Myrseth fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 73rd minute, Hauk Refsdal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Vikøren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hauk Refsdal, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Christian Korsmo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Ingvar Tharaldsen, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 1-2 became the score in the 82nd minute when Hauk Refsdal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 86 minutes into the game, Brøndby FK's Sindre Svanberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristian Borg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Kristian Borg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sindre Svanberg in the 94th minute of play. Even Røv sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
