Spectators: 7404 (Terracing: 5684, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 120) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Odd-Eirik Aase kicked off to start the match. Fredrik Malvik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrik Folkvord in the 5th minute. Fredrik Malvik came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER CITY's Henrik Folkvord. But to his dismay, Henrik Folkvord quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Fredrik Malvik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Espen Buene in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match, Ole-Gunnar Hegdal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fredrik Malvik saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Porsgrund's Halvdan Vikse got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Remi Skjærstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Fredrik Malvik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remi Skjærstad got free with Fredrik Malvik in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 28 played minutes RIVER CITY got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Odland. Halvdan Vikse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, RIVER CITY's Edvard Aure broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Morten Monsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fredrik Malvik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Espen Buene in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When Ole-Gunnar Moen fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIVER CITY's protests and gave Ole-Gunnar Moen a yellow card for diving instead. Ole-Gunnar Moen hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the match, Porsgrund's goal looked a bit too open when Ole-Gunnar Hegdal came free, but Fredrik Malvik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Espen Buene scored 4-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fredrik Malvik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Max Thomassen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odd-Eirik Aase in the 70th minute of the match. Fredrik Malvik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Espen Buene's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. If Espen Buene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fredrik Malvik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Espen Buene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Odd-Eirik Aase got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Espen Buene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fredrik Malvik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remi Skjærstad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Espen Buene's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fredrik Malvik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Fredrik Malvik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Espen Buene in the 93rd minute of the match. Espen Buene scored 5-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fredrik Malvik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The RIVER CITY fans cheered their team off the field, for while Porsgrund had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
