Sverre Synnes might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Axel Tellefsen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sverre Synnes ran back to his position shaking his head. Patrik Ramstad took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Axel Tellefsen. Axel Tellefsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Mats Nedrebø recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Ulrik Valle made a precise shot to the right of Ole-Petter Nærø. Trondheim FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Axel Tellefsen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Martin Mæhlum. Jostein Aamodt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axel Tellefsen having to interfere. Patrik Ramstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axel Tellefsen having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lyn 1896's zone, Patrik Ramstad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Axel Tellefsen came out of the goal and Patrik Ramstad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 played minutes Trondheim FC got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Arne Hellem. If Ulrik Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Axel Tellefsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oddvar Jønsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Patrik Ramstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Axel Tellefsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sverre Synnes took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Axel Tellefsen. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulrik Valle was the one to do the kick off. Sverre Synnes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Axel Tellefsen having to make a save. Jostein Aamodt scored 3-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Axel Tellefsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lyn 1896's zone, Oddvar Jønsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Axel Tellefsen came out of the goal and Oddvar Jønsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Trondheim FC's Patrik Ramstad in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lyn 1896's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrik Valle in the 63rd minute of play forced Trondheim FC's goalkeeper Ole-Petter Nærø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Lyn 1896's Mats Nedrebø nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ole-Petter Nærø made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. 77 minutes into the match, Trondheim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mats Nedrebø came free, but Ole-Petter Nærø reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrik Valle in the 80th minute of play forced Trondheim FC's goalkeeper Ole-Petter Nærø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Ramstad in the 81st minute of play forced Lyn 1896's goalkeeper Axel Tellefsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oddvar Jønsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Axel Tellefsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrik Ramstad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig Røren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axel Tellefsen having to interfere. Mats Nedrebø could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Ole-Petter Nærø made a huge save.
