In the 31st minute Kenneth Sjøvold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelius Ring saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Ulrik Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lyn 1896's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulrik Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ole-Gunnar Reigstad kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Ole-Gunnar Reigstad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Tellefsen made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Gjøran Kolnes sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Larsen Hotspurs defense, Ulrik Valle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cornelius Ring. The Larsen Hotspurs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cornelius Ring should have stopped the shot. 48 minutes into the match, Larsen Hotspurs's Gjøran Kolnes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Axel Tellefsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Asmund Høgberg was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mats Nedrebø got free with Cornelius Ring in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lyn 1896's Axel Tellefsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asmund Høgberg in the 57th minute of play. If Asmund Høgberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markus Hennum kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Lyn 1896 got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Sjøvold. In the 67th minute of the match Sebastian Aandal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Axel Tellefsen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrik Valle in the 69th minute of play forced Larsen Hotspurs's goalkeeper Cornelius Ring to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Nedrebø might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cornelius Ring. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mats Nedrebø ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute Asmund Høgberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Axel Tellefsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Mats Nedrebø managed to get in a good position for a shot.
