After 15 minutes, Øyvind Espe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Storhamar Fotball and the Byggda IL players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Storhamar Fotball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Øyvind Espe to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Haraldstad hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Tormod Kristiansen struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Erik Eiken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Byggda IL. After a defensive mix-up in Storhamar Fotball's zone, Arnstein Worren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Eiken came out of the goal and Arnstein Worren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Roar Gjelsvik fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Roar Gjelsvik charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roar Gjelsvik the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Storhamar Fotball booed when Byggda IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roar Gjelsvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roar Gjelsvik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnstein Worren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Eiken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roar Gjelsvik, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Eilert Solsvik got free with Mao Jun Xu in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnstein Worren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Eiken having to interfere. In the 60th minute Arnstein Worren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Eiken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Storhamar Fotball's Erik Eiken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnstein Worren in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Byggda IL's Tormod Kristiansen got a free kick in the 76th minute. Mao Jun Xu made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Eilert Solsvik sent off a good shot on target. Erik Eiken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roar Gjelsvik in the 85th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Byggda IL fully deserved thier win.
