The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Holstad's Harald Ekelund got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Kjartan Grøterud came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Holstad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kjartan Grøterud couldn't finish the play. Sivert Espeseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tormod Bjørgo in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Holstad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Østlund to maneuver through the defense. Christoffer Skjerven hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 13 played minutes Holstad got a freekick which was hit by Kjartan Grøterud. If William Bekkevold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Holstad getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Julius Haukaas hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes Holstad got a freekick which was hit by Sturle Theodorsen. Tormod Bjørgo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Linus Naustdal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Sivert Espeseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Bekkevold, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Mikolaj Kiepski kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Harald Ekelund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raymond Stordal was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. When Tormod Bjørgo fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fredrikstad FK's protests and gave Tormod Bjørgo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fredrikstad FK getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Tormod Bjørgo hit a great ball. Sivert Espeseth was a little too slow when Tormod Bjørgo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. Tormod Bjørgo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. A collision led to Fredrikstad FK getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Emil Langli hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Sturle Theodorsen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raymond Stordal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Raymond Stordal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harald Ekelund's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harald Ekelund was the one to do the kick off. Holstad's Harald Ekelund got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harald Ekelund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Raymond Stordal made a huge save. Kjartan Grøterud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 59 in the game by Harald Ekelund from a close distance when the talented Raymond Stordal managed to make a qualified save. Fredrikstad FK's players were relieved. Holstad's Harald Ekelund was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 59th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Sivert Espeseth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tormod Bjørgo in the 62nd minute of the match. Tormod Bjørgo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Holstad's Sturle Theodorsen shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 65th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Raymond Stordal but with some difficulty. William Bekkevold took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sivert Espeseth. Sivert Espeseth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Sivert Espeseth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tormod Bjørgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Harald Ekelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, William Bekkevold got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Thomas Østlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Holstad walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
