Jan-Frode Aukland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 17 minutes into the match, MCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Rogstad came free, but Heine Giese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, MCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Vetle Stensby came free, but Heine Giese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iver Otnes kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Heine Giese made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vetle Stensby in the 28th minute of play. Jan-Frode Aukland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Karlsen in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Eric Langen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Frode Aukland was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Andreas Karlsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jan-Frode Aukland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric Langen took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan-Frode Aukland. Jan-Frode Aukland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roger Rogstad to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Henrik Rinde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heine Giese saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Johnnie Ekström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, MCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Rogstad came free, but Heine Giese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joachim Høydahl got free with Heine Giese in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Tromsdalen booed when MCFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Lind didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Frode Aukland came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by MCFC's Eric Langen. But to his dismay, Eric Langen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Roger Rogstad received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Heine Giese came out and tried to block the shot, but Roger Rogstad slotted it home off the left post making it 5-1 in the 75th minute. Roger Rogstad hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88thth minute of the game Eric Langen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tromsdalen's Jan-Frode Aukland was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Langen in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan-Frode Aukland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute Eric Langen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Frode Aukland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Espen Reite was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. In the 94th match minute, Tromsdalen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Espen Reite to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MCFC fully deserved thier win.
