Jim Slyngstad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnnie Ekström in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Lokomotiv Såta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenneth Justad to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Eric Langen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Slyngstad was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. If Andreas Karlsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The MCFC fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when MCFC's Eric Langen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Lokomotiv Såta getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Olof Ulset hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Johannes Asphaug hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Rune Holter in the 66th minute really tested Jim Slyngstad's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jim Slyngstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Karlsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 77 minutes into the match, MCFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Stormo came free, but Heine Giese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Eric Langen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eric Langen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Jim Slyngstad when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Andreas Karlsen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, Lokomotiv Såta's Elias Grønseth got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the match was over MCFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lokomotiv Såta throughout the match.
