The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rikard Sollid showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sture Mikaelsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Heggelund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Værøy IL getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Christoffer Skretting hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Vidar Eek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rikard Sollid was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Tallaassæteren booed when Værøy IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoffer Skretting didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sture Mikaelsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Heggelund in the 40th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ask Nesbø to strike the kick off in the second half. Rikard Sollid made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Ask Nesbø sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ask Nesbø got free with Rikard Sollid in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd match minute, Værøy IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Helset to maneuver through the defense. Erling Heggelund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. The tension between the Værøy IL and the Tallaassæteren players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Gyuro Ruski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
