In the 6thth minute of the game Thomas Klemetsen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Værøy IL's Sture Mikaelsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sture Mikaelsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Bjørndalen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Værøy IL getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carl Ulset hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Thomas Klemetsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sture Mikaelsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 26 minutes of play, AC Mizeria's Thomas Klemetsen made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sture Mikaelsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sture Mikaelsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Bjørndalen in the 34th minute of play. Dionisio Iyan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ask Nesbø in the 37th minute. In the 38th match minute, Værøy IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenneth Nærland to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute of the match, Vidar Eek tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dionisio Iyan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Lars Lauritsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sture Mikaelsen having to interfere. Vidar Eek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dionisio Iyan having to make a save. Sture Mikaelsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernt Bjørndalen in the 66th minute of the match. Ask Nesbø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars Lauritsen got free with Sture Mikaelsen in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the game, Vidar Eek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Dionisio Iyan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 81 played minutes Værøy IL got a freekick which was hit by Theodor Langaas. Karl Fanebust hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Dionisio Iyan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ask Nesbø, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Bernt Bjørndalen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sture Mikaelsen firmly grabbed it by the left post. Bernt Bjørndalen came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sture Mikaelsen could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernt Bjørndalen got free with Sture Mikaelsen in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle went the supporters of AC Mizeria were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Værøy IL side.
