The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sturle Foss in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roy Jama prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trond Egeland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niklas Aanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Midtun Fc's Roy Jama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sturle Foss in the 12th minute of play. If Torstein Brynildsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torstein Brynildsen hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Midtun Fc's Roy Jama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sturle Foss in the 17th minute of play. When Torstein Brynildsen fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Overbygden FF's protests and gave Torstein Brynildsen a yellow card for diving instead. Niklas Aanes was a little too slow when Christer Heiberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. Roy Jama stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sturle Foss's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christer Heiberg got free with Niklas Aanes in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute of the match, Iver Bugten tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Niklas Aanes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thorbjørn Valstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Jama having to interfere. Roy Jama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sturle Foss in the 36th minute of the match. Roy Jama stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sturle Foss's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 44 minutes in the game Joakim Ryeng did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Kevin Tveiten. The supporters of Midtun Fc booed when Overbygden FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Tveiten didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trond Egeland made a kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Sturle Foss who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Midtun Fc's Roy Jama was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the game, Sturle Foss cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Roy Jama was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Niklas Aanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ole-Petter Fauske, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Sturle Foss struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Roy Jama didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Overbygden FF. If Thorbjørn Valstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ole-Petter Fauske charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ole-Petter Fauske the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Midtun Fc got a freekick which was hit by Ole-Petter Fauske. The nice shot from Sturle Foss in the 70thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Roy Jama had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 73rd minute Trond Egeland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niklas Aanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emil Lunder came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Roy Jama could save by the left post. Trond Egeland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thorbjørn Valstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Jama having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Overbygden FF's Roy Jama threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sturle Foss, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roy Jama didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorbjørn Valstad went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 85 minutes into the match, Midtun Fc's goalkeeper Roy Jama had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sturle Foss. In the 93rd minute, Christer Heiberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roy Jama stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sturle Foss's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
