In the 4th minute Mons Mahmood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ask Simonsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Georg Espeseth came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Riddervolds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Espeseth couldn't finish the play. If Fridtjof Gulliksen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 minutes of play, SUDEL's Mons Mahmood made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ask Simonsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Mons Mahmood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ask Simonsen was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 29 minutes into the match, Riddervolds's goal looked a bit too open when Mons Mahmood came free, but Ask Simonsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fridtjof Gulliksen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Steinar Nyhus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riddervolds's Ask Simonsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mons Mahmood in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mons Mahmood in the 41st minute of play forced Riddervolds's goalkeeper Ask Simonsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ask Simonsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Rassen in the 42nd minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Georg Espeseth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Riddervolds defense, Fredrik Rassen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ask Simonsen. The Riddervolds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ask Simonsen should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute Bruno Gama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ask Simonsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, one of Riddervolds:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Riddervolds. Ask Simonsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mons Mahmood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Bruno Gama hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georg Espeseth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steinar Nyhus having to make a save. Georg Espeseth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Gama hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. SUDEL were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Riddervolds's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sture Holst took the corner. Mons Mahmood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ask Simonsen having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SUDEL's Ove Gjøen got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the final whistle sounded SUDEL left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Riddervolds.
