Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jan Standal made the kick off and thus started the match. Steffen Roth took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ståle Kvarme. Ståle Kvarme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 10 minutes of play, Kovlands IF's Steffen Roth made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ståle Kvarme was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kovlands IF's goalkeeper Roald Skjelstad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roald Skjelstad was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roald Nerheim showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 15 minute of play. Ståle Kvarme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Sagmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Østabø defense, Ådne Nordhaug kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ståle Kvarme. The Østabø fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ståle Kvarme should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Christian Sagmo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ståle Kvarme. Østabø's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Sagmo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Peter Myrdal took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Roald Skjelstad to make any attempt to save it. After 35 played minutes Østabø got a freekick which was hit by Morten Bjørk. Kovlands IF's Jonathan Øren couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Østabø. Østabø's Ståle Kvarme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steffen Roth in the 38th minute of play. Roald Nerheim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roald Skjelstad having to make a save. A collision led to Østabø getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Aleksander Gilje hit a great ball. Ståle Kvarme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Sagmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The audience was convinced that Steffen Roth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ståle Kvarme was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Morten Bjørk hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Østabø's Ståle Kvarme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Østabø from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Østabø getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Morten Bjørk hit a great ball. Kovlands IF's Jonathan Øren shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ståle Kvarme but with some difficulty. Østabø's Ståle Kvarme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Østabø from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute Steffen Roth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ståle Kvarme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Østabø defense, Christian Sagmo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ståle Kvarme. The Østabø fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ståle Kvarme should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the game, Christian Sagmo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ståle Kvarme. Christian Sagmo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-6. The supporters of Østabø booed when Kovlands IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Elvestad didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Østabø's Jan Standal broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 75 minutes into the game, Kovlands IF's Christian Sagmo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ståle Kvarme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Standal in the 90th minute of play forced Kovlands IF's goalkeeper Roald Skjelstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roald Nerheim charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roald Nerheim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roald Nerheim kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the match was over Kovlands IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Østabø throughout the match.
