Spectators: 8050 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1900, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Håvard Hasle kicked off to start the match. If Morten Borgersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gjermund Berre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Håvard Hasle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Øvstedal. Verdal FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Håvard Hasle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Tommy Øvstedal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Wiggen in the 11th minute of play. Håvard Hasle took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Øvstedal. Tommy Øvstedal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tommy Øvstedal made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Håvard Hasle sent off a good shot on target. Terje Solbakk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trym Thorsrud in the 21st minute of play. Verdal FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Kristen Vestbø scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Øvstedal, making the score, 3-0. After 29 minutes of play, Verdal FK's Trym Thorsrud made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Terje Solbakk was left in no man's land by his defense there! Terje Solbakk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trym Thorsrud in the 31st minute of the match. Kristian Torbergsen kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Jonathan Lauvås hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Øvstedal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Wiggen, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute Trym Thorsrud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terje Solbakk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Bjørkeåsen IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Kaupang to maneuver through the defense. When Joachim Ytreland fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verdal FK's protests and gave Joachim Ytreland a yellow card for diving instead. Verdal FK's Tommy Øvstedal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Verdal FK from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Trym Thorsrud made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trym Thorsrud in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Terje Solbakk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Terje Solbakk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Morten Borgersen in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Bjørkeåsen IF's Sven Wiggen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Øvstedal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 59 minutes into the match, Bjørkeåsen IF's Kristen Vestbø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Øvstedal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Johanssen in the 60th minute of play forced Verdal FK's goalkeeper Tommy Øvstedal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Øvstedal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristen Vestbø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristian Torbergsen kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Ole-Johan Joakimsen kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Håvard Hasle in the 73rd minute of play forced Verdal FK's goalkeeper Tommy Øvstedal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gjermund Berre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terje Solbakk having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Trym Thorsrud reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Terje Solbakk. The goal made the score 5-2. Tommy Øvstedal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Wiggen, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Håvard Hasle in the 86th minute of play forced Verdal FK's goalkeeper Tommy Øvstedal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Håvard Hasle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Øvstedal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 minutes, David Kaupang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bjørkeåsen IF and the Verdal FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Bjørkeåsen IF's zone, Christer Dalseth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terje Solbakk came out of the goal and Christer Dalseth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bjørkeåsen IF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Verdal FK for a fine match.
