Ørjan Heien made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Asmund Normann sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Vincent McVean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronny Oppedal was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Chesthair Eagles FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jim Wærnes in the 25th minute. Ronny Oppedal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vincent McVean's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Ranheim IL's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent McVean came free, but Ronny Oppedal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th match minute, Ranheim IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Knut Boye to maneuver through the defense. When Vincent McVean fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chesthair Eagles FC's protests and gave Vincent McVean a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rdth minute of the game Vincent McVean who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ranheim IL's Ronny Oppedal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ranheim IL's Tim Forsmo got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Asmund Normann made a kick off. If Vincent McVean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronny Oppedal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Eidissen in the 54th minute of the match. Vincent McVean took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronny Oppedal. Ronny Oppedal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Chesthair Eagles FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
