The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bjørn Moe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Ranheim IL fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Ranheim IL's Hauk Hella looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Ranheim IL booed when Skåbu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhammad Landsborg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krister Rikstad in the 19th minute of play forced Skåbu's goalkeeper Bjørn Moe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Skåbu's goal looked a bit too open when Asmund Normann came free, but Bjørn Moe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Asmund Normann notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Skåbu's Bjørn Moe. In the 32nd minute Hauk Hella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjørn Moe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 0-5 became the score in the 33rd minute when Krister Rikstad elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ranheim IL's Hauk Hella got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bjørn Moe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krister Rikstad in the 40th minute of play. After 41 minutes of play, Ranheim IL's Krister Rikstad made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bjørn Moe was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd match minute, Ranheim IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tim Forsmo to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute of the match Morten Rimstad sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronny Oppedal skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Ranheim IL's Ronny Oppedal got control of the ball when Jonathan Foldnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Foldnes was the one to do the kick off. Hauk Hella could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Bjørn Moe made a huge save. In the 54th minute, Ranheim IL's Asmund Normann ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bjørn Moe. Bjørn Moe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Bjørn Moe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krister Rikstad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ranheim IL's Ronny Oppedal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muhammad Landsborg in the 62nd minute of play. In the 70th minute of the match, Krister Rikstad tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bjørn Moe saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 70th minute, Krister Rikstad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ranheim IL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. The crowd rose to their feet as Ranheim IL's Krister Rikstad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bjørn Moe. That made the score 0-10 after 81 minutes of play. Krister Rikstad might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bjørn Moe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Krister Rikstad ran back to his position shaking his head. Skåbu's Bjørn Moe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Skåbu from getting a goal against them. Bjørn Moe made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Asmund Normann sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hauk Hella got free with Bjørn Moe in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Asmund Normann took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Bjørn Moe to make any attempt to save it.
