In the 6th minute, Izaak Sanders sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Specs's Yuri Jurjens didn't even have to move. Bart Nijemanting blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yuri Jurjens having to make a save. The supporters of Specs booed when Slikkenburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izaak Sanders didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurre Dekker in the 16th minute of play forced Slikkenburg's goalkeeper Cees Rijkaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuri Jurjens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Nijemanting, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Specs's Yuri Jurjens got control of the ball when Jochem Saanen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Specs's Yuri Jurjens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Nijemanting in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Slikkenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Jurre Dekker came free, but Cees Rijkaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Specs's Yuri Jurjens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Specs from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Florian Hoekstra made a precise shot to the right of Yuri Jurjens. Specs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
After a rather tough play, Slikkenburg's Florian Hoekstra got a free kick in the 54th minute. Jurre Dekker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Cees Rijkaard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lex Assendelft kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Yuri Jurjens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florian Hoekstra, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Specs's Yuri Jurjens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Nijemanting in the 67th minute of play. Cees Rijkaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurre Dekker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Slikkenburg's Cees Rijkaard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Slikkenburg from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Jurre Dekker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Slikkenburg's Jochem Saanen got a free kick in the 84th minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Jurre Dekker took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Cees Rijkaard to make any attempt to save it. Arjan Bust sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Specs could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Slikkenburg throughout the match.
