Spectators: 7172 (Terracing: 5547, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Guus Israel started the match with the kick off. Guus Israel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the match, Vogelzang's goal looked a bit too open when Guus Israel came free, but Patrick Boschker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patrick Boschker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurre Walregt in the 11th minute of play. Joop Wessel charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joop Wessel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 14 played minutes Vogelzang got a freekick which was hit by Joop Wessel. If Guus Israel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guus Israel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Patrick Boschker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes, Fortmond's Melvin van der Meer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patrick Boschker came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fortmond reached it. Jurre Walregt might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick Boschker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jurre Walregt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Guus Israel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Boschker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Guus Israel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willem Weerd to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Vogelzang's goalkeeper Patrick Boschker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jurre Walregt. Robert-Jan Greef kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Jurre Walregt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Patrick Boschker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willem Weerd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Tommie Robben tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guus Israel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. A collision led to Vogelzang getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nathan Drok hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Robert-Jan Greef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Boschker came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Fortmond's Jurre Walregt. But to his dismay, Jurre Walregt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When the match was over Fortmond could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vogelzang throughout the match.
