Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Coos Alberts started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Roosendaaltjes booed when Elim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Heitinga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otto Kik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Gio van der Valk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coos Alberts in the 10th minute of play. When Wessel Theuws came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Roosendaaltjes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wessel Theuws couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the game, Elim's Mario Heitinga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gio van der Valk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute Lenílson Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Kik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Roosendaaltjes defense, Coos Alberts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gio van der Valk. The Roosendaaltjes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gio van der Valk should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elim's goalkeeper Otto Kik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Otto Kik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Roosendaaltjes's Martien Roswinkel got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Robert Anneese sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gio van der Valk skillfully saved the ball. When Bram de Rudder fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roosendaaltjes's protests and gave Bram de Rudder a yellow card for diving instead. Gio van der Valk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik Bekker in the 38th minute of the match. Otto Kik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wessel Theuws, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otto Kik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Santos in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Elim were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lenílson Santos made a kick off. Lenílson Santos took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Kik. Otto Kik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Coos Alberts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hendrik Bekker's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Gio van der Valk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th match minute, Roosendaaltjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jelle Boeve to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Roosendaaltjes's Gio van der Valk got control of the ball when Hendrik Bekker tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute, Lenílson Santos made a precise shot to the right of Otto Kik. Elim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After having played for 84 minutes, Wessel Theuws managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roosendaaltjes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wessel Theuws was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Elim's zone, Lenílson Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otto Kik came out of the goal and Lenílson Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roosendaaltjes's Wessel Theuws got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gio van der Valk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Jorna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Roosendaaltjes players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
