The Oevereind FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Oevereind FC's Donny Hofland looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donny Hofland in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elbert Evans saved Venushoek S.C. from getting behind. Oevereind FC's Gösta Blomkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Oevereind FC from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donny Hofland in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elbert Evans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Raimundo Büchler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oevereind FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Büchler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elbert Evans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Oevereind FC booed when Venushoek S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Roelofs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes, Oevereind FC's Mitchell Kiewit shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elbert Evans came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oevereind FC reached it. The Venushoek S.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Oevereind FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Theo Oosterveld to strike the kick off in the second half. Gösta Blomkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Oosterveld in the 51st minute of play. Marco Hoogland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elbert Evans having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Max Ricksen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venushoek S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Ricksen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oevereind FC's Donny Hofland got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oevereind FC's Gösta Blomkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Roelofs in the 80th minute of play. Donny Hofland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elbert Evans having to interfere. Donny Hofland who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Elbert Evans when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venushoek S.C.'s Elbert Evans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donny Hofland in the 94th minute of play. If Donny Hofland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venushoek S.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Oevereind FC had controlled the match.
