When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Denny Akkerboom sped through The Gabbermatehooligans's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eddy Zwarthoet. In the 45th minute, Jan van Zalingen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Henry Schiphouwer acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 73rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Thomas Veltrop. Henry Schiphouwer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
