After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Tommie Geerds managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nieuwerkerk's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommie Geerds was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jordi Schenning breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Tommie Geerds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordi Schenning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jim Popken kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 20 minutes of play, Nieuwerkerk's Koos Reitsema made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jordi Schenning was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 31 minutes into the match, Bekelaar's goal looked a bit too open when Koos Reitsema came free, but Jordi Schenning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jim Popken was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Nieuwerkerk booed when Bekelaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Popken didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40thth minute of the game Koos Reitsema who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bekelaar's Jordi Schenning was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Koos Reitsema got free with Jordi Schenning in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 53 played minutes Bekelaar got a freekick which was hit by Harmen Luikens. Jordi Schenning came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Nieuwerkerk's Tommie Geerds. But to his dismay, Tommie Geerds quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Jordi Schenning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Koos Reitsema in the 60th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Koos Reitsema kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jordi Schenning. That made the score 0-6 in the 62 minute of play. After 64 played minutes Bekelaar got a freekick which was hit by Matthijs Cremers. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Jordi Schenning successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Willem Spierenburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jordi Schenning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 71 in the game by Koos Reitsema from a close distance when the talented Jordi Schenning managed to make a qualified save. Bekelaar's players were relieved. If Willem Spierenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fokke Iepstra fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bekelaar's protests and gave Fokke Iepstra a yellow card for diving instead. Fokke Iepstra hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Jordi Schenning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Peppinck in the 77th minute of play. A collision led to Bekelaar getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Harm Brunt hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bekelaar's zone, Luuk Ginneken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordi Schenning came out of the goal and Luuk Ginneken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Koos Reitsema managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nieuwerkerk's supporters rose to their feet, but Koos Reitsema was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
