Spectators: 7455 (Terracing: 5592, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After 9 played minutes Biezelinge got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Harmannus. 11 minutes into the match, Frits Deinse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gert Jan de Backer. AFC Amsterdam's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frits Deinse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Tonny Niekamp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastiaan Pilage, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Tonny Niekamp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaan Pilage in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Andre Hulshof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gert Jan de Backer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Roeland Arts in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Biezelinge's Mario Teuws. Biezelinge's Frits Deinse got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mario Teuws sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32ndth minute of the game Frits Deinse who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Amsterdam's Gert Jan de Backer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilfried Reinders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gert Jan de Backer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frits Deinse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. If Bastiaan Pilage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The AFC Amsterdam players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Biezelinge were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frits Deinse to make the kick off. After 52nd play minutes Frits Deinse shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Gert Jan de Backer and just under the crossbar into goal. Frits Deinse struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Gert Jan de Backer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Biezelinge. Bram Holst's late challenge caught a Biezelinge's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bram Holst helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of AFC Amsterdam:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Biezelinge:s goal. Wilfried Reinders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute, Pieter van Zalen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 played minutes, AFC Amsterdam's Mart Oorthuis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tonny Niekamp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC Amsterdam reached it. Mario Teuws charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Teuws the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mario Teuws hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Gert Jan de Backer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfried Reinders in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, AFC Amsterdam's Gert Jan de Backer got control of the ball when Frits Deinse tried to sneak it across the goal line. AFC Amsterdam's Gert Jan de Backer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Amsterdam from getting a goal against them.
