Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th minute Jochem Wijkstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Nelissen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes, Matthijs Rodenberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Twist SV and the Gaarland players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Twist SV getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Matthijs Rodenberg hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaarland's Tjeerd Zwarthoet slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mike Nelissen. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Matthijs Rodenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jochem Wijkstra hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Bennie Boerma came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Twist SV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bennie Boerma couldn't finish the play. Kelvin Tellingen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Abbekerk having to interfere. Jack Abbekerk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennie Boerma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mike Nelissen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tjeerd Zwarthoet in the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Gaarland's Jochem Rinzema got a free kick in the 34th minute. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Bennie Boerma put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jack Abbekerk. Nico van Assen's late challenge caught a Twist SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nico van Assen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Twist SV booed when Gaarland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jochem Wijkstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Twist SV's Bennie Boerma got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bennie Boerma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Bennie Boerma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gaarland getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fernando Penders hit a great ball. If Matthijs Rodenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jochem Wijkstra kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Twist SV's Govert Stekelenburg got a free kick in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Twist SV defense, Werner Zielman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Nelissen. The Twist SV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Nelissen should have stopped the shot. Jack Abbekerk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bennie Boerma's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. With his leg Jack Abbekerk managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Twist SV's Bennie Boerma fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 79 minutes of play, Gaarland's Tjeerd Zwarthoet made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mike Nelissen was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Gaarland getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Jochem Wijkstra hit a great ball. Bennie Boerma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jack Abbekerk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Twist SV's Bennie Boerma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jack Abbekerk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matthijs Rodenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tjeerd Zwarthoet scored 4-3 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike Nelissen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Gaarland support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
