After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Raymond Kuis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bus's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond Kuis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastiaan Ronde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute, Jouke Hoving got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erben Eylens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bart Steelman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erben Eylens was extremely unlucky when he, in the 41st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 45 played minutes Valkenhuizen RKSV got a freekick which was hit by Bob Zeevenhoven. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 56th match minute, Bus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephan de Haan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jouke Hoving in the 58th minute of play forced Valkenhuizen RKSV's goalkeeper Sebastiaan Ronde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastiaan Ronde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephan de Haan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bus booed when Valkenhuizen RKSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefano Vondel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Aad de Nooijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bart Steelman struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Gilbert Cornelisse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valkenhuizen RKSV. 66 minutes into the match, Bus's goal looked a bit too open when Bart Steelman came free, but Gilbert Cornelisse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bart Steelman scored 1-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilbert Cornelisse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martien Wagemakers hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Gilbert Cornelisse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefano Vondel in the 74th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Rogier Appeldoorn got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilbert Cornelisse quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Bus's zone, Bart Steelman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Cornelisse came out of the goal and Bart Steelman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Erben Eylens made a precise shot to the right of Gilbert Cornelisse. Bus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Erben Eylens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Gilbert Cornelisse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stephan de Haan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastiaan Ronde having to interfere. Gilbert Cornelisse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erben Eylens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valkenhuizen RKSV's Bart Steelman got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
