Jens Bouwens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arno Salens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arno Salens struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jens Bouwens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for venlooooo. Jef Bosz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jens Bouwens having to make a save. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Kortland:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of venlooooo:s goal. Jens Bouwens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jef Bosz went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jef Bosz in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jens Bouwens saved Kortland from getting behind. In the 35th minute Jan Broerse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Kolkman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henny Heerspink received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jens Bouwens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Kortland's Jens Bouwens got control of the ball when Arno Salens tried to sneak it across the goal line. venlooooo's Mark Kolkman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martien Averdijk in the 42nd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Arno Salens in the 53rd minute of play forced Kortland's goalkeeper Jens Bouwens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, venlooooo's Jef Bosz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens Bouwens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 61 minutes into the match, Kortland's goal looked a bit too open when Jef Bosz came free, but Jens Bouwens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. venlooooo's Mark Kolkman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas van Gaal in the 63rd minute of play. Jens Bouwens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jef Bosz in the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kortland's Bruno Castelen got a free kick in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kortland's zone, Jef Bosz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jens Bouwens came out of the goal and Jef Bosz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute Arno Salens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Bouwens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
