Spectators: 7311 (Terracing: 5557, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jan Broerse started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Fabiën Swart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niclas Dalström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Broerse's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Jan Broerse might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niclas Dalström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Broerse ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolf Sneijder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Mathijs Saelman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Bouwens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Kortland's Jens Bouwens got control of the ball when Rolf Sneijder tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kortland's Jan Broerse got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martien Averdijk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Niclas Dalström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Kortland's goalkeeper Jens Bouwens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rolf Sneijder. If Jan Broerse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Mathijs Saelman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Bouwens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jordy Roswinkel got free with Jens Bouwens in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Beetsterweg SC's Rolf Sneijder got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan Broerse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Niclas Dalström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Jens Bouwens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiën Swart in the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Rolf Sneijder cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jens Bouwens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Rolf Sneijder came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Beetsterweg SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolf Sneijder couldn't finish the play. Mathijs Saelman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th match minute, Kortland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sander Barels to maneuver through the defense. Mathijs Saelman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jens Bouwens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jens Bouwens came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Beetsterweg SC's Rolf Sneijder. But to his dismay, Rolf Sneijder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Martien Averdijk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Niclas Dalström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Broerse in the 91st minute of play forced Beetsterweg SC's goalkeeper Niclas Dalström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Kortland defense, Mathijs Saelman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens Bouwens. The Kortland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens Bouwens should have stopped the shot. Kortland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
