A collision led to Hoogeveen getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Coenraad Pierewaaijer hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Dirk Jan Jonkman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Paul Breinburg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vossen RAA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Dirk Jan Jonkman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Marco Stigt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hoogeveen's Marco Stigt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirk Jan Jonkman in the 40th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rik de Kort stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the match, Vossen RAA's goal looked a bit too open when Melvin Schaap came free, but Roland Wemers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dirk Jan Jonkman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Marco Stigt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul Breinburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Stigt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Breinburg, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Vossen RAA could leave the field as winners, despite Hoogeveen having more of the ball for most of the match.
