Derk Friebel struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Marco Stigt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Godenzonen. Marco Stigt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derk Friebel in the 13th minute of the match. Marco Stigt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico Moermans in the 17th minute of play. If Henny Kosterman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Stigt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derk Friebel in the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Nico Moermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Stigt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Stigt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derk Friebel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nico Moermans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 36 minutes, Jouke Maurits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Godenzonen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jouke Maurits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Derk Friebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Derk Friebel managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Godenzonen's supporters rose to their feet, but Derk Friebel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Stigt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rik de Kort to strike the kick off in the second half. Hoogeveen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Henny Kosterman scored to the left of an out of position Marco Stigt, making the score, 0-1. In the 53rd match minute, F.C. Godenzonen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henny Kosterman to maneuver through the defense. If Derk Friebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rik de Kort recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute Derk Friebel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Stigt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Hoogeveen's goalkeeper Marco Stigt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jouke Maurits. Marco Stigt was a little too slow when Derk Friebel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 1-2. Marco Stigt made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Jouke Maurits sent off a good shot on target. Jouke Maurits blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Stigt having to make a save. Marco Stigt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derk Friebel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jouke Maurits sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes, Henny Kosterman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Godenzonen and the Hoogeveen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to F.C. Godenzonen getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Henny Kosterman hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the game, Rik de Kort was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hoogeveen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Godenzonen the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hoogeveen's Rik de Kort got a free kick in the 94th minute. After having played for 96 minutes, Jouke Maurits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Godenzonen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jouke Maurits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over F.C. Godenzonen could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hoogeveen throughout the match.
