Spectators: 7375 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Davy Klaassen got the match started through his kick off. After 2 played minutes FC Wollie got a freekick which was hit by Hans Staal. The V.V.ONT fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when V.V.ONT's Davy Klaassen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. V.V.ONT's Dolf van Zwieten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martien Mols in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Martien Mols took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dolf van Zwieten to make any attempt to save it. In the 15th match minute, V.V.ONT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davy Klaassen to maneuver through the defense. Mike Jonker struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Johan Hovenkamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for V.V.ONT. V.V.ONT's Dolf van Zwieten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save V.V.ONT from getting a goal against them. Johan Hovenkamp came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by V.V.ONT's Davy Klaassen. But to his dismay, Davy Klaassen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 29th match minute, V.V.ONT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Jonker to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC Wollie booed when V.V.ONT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davy Klaassen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dolf van Zwieten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martien Mols in the 39th minute of the match. Franck Bekker kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Roland Clarijs came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the FC Wollie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Clarijs couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, FC Wollie's Dolf van Zwieten threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roland Clarijs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roland Clarijs was the one to do the kick off. Dolf van Zwieten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Clarijs in the 55th minute of play. Dolf van Zwieten came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Wollie's Sjoerd van Zaanen. But to his dismay, Sjoerd van Zaanen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If Sjoerd van Zaanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sjoerd van Zaanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 69th match minute, FC Wollie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddy Lubbers to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, V.V.ONT's goal looked a bit too open when Martien Mols came free, but Dolf van Zwieten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Mike Jonker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Johan Hovenkamp was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Johan Hovenkamp successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in V.V.ONT's zone, Sjoerd van Zaanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dolf van Zwieten came out of the goal and Sjoerd van Zaanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sjoerd van Zaanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf van Zwieten having to interfere. After a rather tough play, V.V.ONT's Davy Klaassen got a free kick in the 88th minute. When Roland Clarijs came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the FC Wollie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Clarijs couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, Franck Bekker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Wollie's Roland Clarijs got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle went the supporters of V.V.ONT were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant FC Wollie side.
