Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gert Schalkwijk started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Lathum FC booed when Add Deen Haag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerjan Hoekstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derk Franssen charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derk Franssen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes Lathum FC got a freekick which was hit by Derk Franssen. Rogier Ronde charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 16th minute Jan Rooy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Snoeks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erik Snoeks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brain Achterberg in the 17th minute. Cor van Schaik took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frits Toolenaar. Frits Toolenaar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Wesley van Heiningen kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Jan Rooy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. Lathum FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Rooy in the 31st minute of play forced Add Deen Haag's goalkeeper Erik Snoeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Add Deen Haag's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Rooy came free, but Erik Snoeks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Rooy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Snoeks having to interfere.

If Brain Achterberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 55 minutes, Jan Rooy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lathum FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Rooy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erik Snoeks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brain Achterberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Lathum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gert Schalkwijk came free, but Frits Toolenaar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacob Steen kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Cor van Schaik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Cor van Schaik made a precise shot to the right of Frits Toolenaar. Lathum FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Stephan Terpstra hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cor van Schaik got free with Frits Toolenaar in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lathum FC's Frits Toolenaar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Lathum FC from getting a goal against them. Add Deen Haag's Erik Snoeks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Rooy in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Add Deen Haag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc de Graaf to maneuver through the defense. Lathum FC's Frits Toolenaar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert Schalkwijk in the 85th minute of play. With a little luck, Lathum FC's Frits Toolenaar got control of the ball when Cor van Schaik tried to sneak it across the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Add Deen Haag's Rinus Ridder tried to score from far away in the 96th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Add Deen Haag supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Add Deen Haag would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
