Ate de Jong's late challenge caught a Strijbeek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Strijbeek booed when Wadwaai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gooitzen de Zwaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 99th minute, Ferry Melker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Strijbeek had won after a very even match.
