The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niek Kuys during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute Govert Hauvers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christijan Platvoet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Geert Arend de Ridder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Sari Kanarya's goalkeeper Christijan Platvoet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Govert Hauvers. The audience was convinced that Niels van Halst's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Wagemakers was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Govert Hauvers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geert Arend de Ridder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geert Arend de Ridder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Christijan Platvoet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Govert Hauvers was the one to do the kick off. Geert Arend de Ridder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christijan Platvoet having to interfere. Sari Kanarya's Niek Kuys got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Niek Kuys off the ground. Niek Kuys hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Christijan Platvoet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geert Arend de Ridder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christijan Platvoet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geert Arend de Ridder, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The supporters of Overschie HC booed when Sari Kanarya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobus Oss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christijan Platvoet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Govert Hauvers in the 80th minute of play. Jacobus Oss charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacobus Oss the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sari Kanarya getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Jacobus Oss hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Roland Tigelaar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 87 minutes, Govert Hauvers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Overschie HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Govert Hauvers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Govert Hauvers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christijan Platvoet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geert Arend de Ridder in the 91st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sari Kanarya's zone, Govert Hauvers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christijan Platvoet came out of the goal and Govert Hauvers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
