An unexpectedly hard shot by Govert Hauvers in the 22nd minute of play forced Zaarvlaas HC's goalkeeper Kristian Numan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Geert Arend de Ridder got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Geert Arend de Ridder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute Govert Hauvers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Numan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 minutes, Iwan Oorschot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zaarvlaas HC and the Overschie HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zaarvlaas HC's Iwan Oorschot got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Geert Arend de Ridder notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Zaarvlaas HC's Kristian Numan. Kristian Numan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Govert Hauvers to strike the kick off in the second half. If Geert Arend de Ridder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Geert Arend de Ridder came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Overschie HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geert Arend de Ridder couldn't finish the play. Ron van Mol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Jim Wagemakers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kristian Numan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geert Arend de Ridder in the 84th minute of play. Geert Arend de Ridder struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Kristian Numan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Overschie HC. Govert Hauvers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Kristian Numan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Overschie HC had won after a very even match.
