The supporters of Monster Energy Ultra booed when Den Haag Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Bömker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiën Som received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Vincent Veenker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Werner Bennink to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luuk Bronkhorst got free with Nick Schokkenbroek in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Monster Energy Ultra's zone, Fabiën Som stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Veenker came out of the goal and Fabiën Som tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Pepijn Dekens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monster Energy Ultra's goalkeeper Vincent Veenker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vincent Veenker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiën Som in the 61st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Monster Energy Ultra's zone, Pepijn Dekens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vincent Veenker came out of the goal and Pepijn Dekens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 66 played minutes Den Haag Academy got a freekick which was hit by Tonny Geerts. Vincent Veenker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pepijn Dekens in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Pepijn Dekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Veenker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiën Som fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Veenker having to interfere. Pepijn Dekens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vincent Veenker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Elmar Witting's late challenge caught a Monster Energy Ultra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elmar Witting helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Den Haag Academy getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Elmar Witting hit a great ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Pepijn Dekens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
