Gert van der Schans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Marinus Been tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC ANFIELDROAD's Robert-Jan Pool got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Utrecht FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Tim Riemers scored to the left of an out of position Marinus Been, making the score, 1-0. Marinus Been took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert van der Schans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albert Idelberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tim Riemers took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marinus Been. Marinus Been dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. A collision led to Utrecht FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jordy Breinburg hit a great ball. Thijs Panter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th match minute, FC ANFIELDROAD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Idema to maneuver through the defense. Albert Idelberger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Steven Hansma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bastiaan de Zwaan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Albert Idelberger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Utrecht FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC ANFIELDROAD the free kick. 42 minutes into the match, FC ANFIELDROAD's Thijs Panter broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 44 minutes of play, FC ANFIELDROAD's Tim Riemers made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marinus Been was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Bastiaan de Zwaan made the kick off in the second half. Marinus Been didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edwin Derksen went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Bastiaan de Zwaan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Hansma having to interfere. After some careless play in the Utrecht FC defense, Gert van der Schans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marinus Been. The Utrecht FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marinus Been should have stopped the shot. 73 minutes into the game, Edwin Derksen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ANFIELDROAD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Utrecht FC the free kick. In the 74th minute, Edwin Derksen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A nice corner shot did that Albert Idelberger got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Steven Hansma quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, FC ANFIELDROAD's Gert van der Schans got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Utrecht FC booed when FC ANFIELDROAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert-Jan Pool didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Utrecht FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Riemers came free, but Marinus Been reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Gert van der Schans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinus Been saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC ANFIELDROAD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
