With 22 minutes on the clock, Tim Mook commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 22 minutes into the game, one of Utrecht FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a rather tough play, Utrecht FC's Jacco Harms got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half Lukas HC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Idelberger made a kick off. Klaas Ranzijn charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Klaas Ranzijn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Utrecht FC's Marinus Been proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Utrecht FC from getting a goal against them. 95 minutes into the match, Utrecht FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arno Meijering came free, but Marinus Been reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Lukas HC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Utrecht FC throughout the match.
