Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Boukjan Legdeur got the match started through his kick off. Boukjan Legdeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ricky Boswijk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, Jan Butter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aksel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Butter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tim Vonk in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ernst Hagenouw, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Piwi United's zone, Jan Butter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernst Hagenouw came out of the goal and Jan Butter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the game, Mark Baalman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piwi United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aksel the free kick. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Aksel. Peter Booy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ernst Hagenouw. 2-0. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piwi United's goalkeeper Ernst Hagenouw, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tim Vonk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Hagenouw having to interfere. After 32 minutes, Tjeerd Soer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piwi United and the Aksel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tjeerd Soer hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Ernst Hagenouw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Vonk in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute Jan Butter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernst Hagenouw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Piwi United's Gerrie Wielens got a free kick in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Jan Butter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Ernst Hagenouw was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan Butter to make the kick off. Tim Vonk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mike Fokkens took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernst Hagenouw. Piwi United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tim Vonk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ernst Hagenouw having to make a save. If Jan Butter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 68 minutes, Tim Vonk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aksel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Vonk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Tjeerd Soer from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Ricky Boswijk's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Tim Vonk came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Aksel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim Vonk couldn't finish the play. Ernst Hagenouw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Vonk in the 79th minute of play. Ernst Hagenouw stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tim Vonk's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Jan Butter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Hagenouw having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Tim Vonk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Ernst Hagenouw was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jan Butter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernst Hagenouw having to interfere. Jan Butter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
