In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Broekland's goalkeeper Roel van der Stoel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Broekland getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Elbert Zondervan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Broekland's Elbert Zondervan got a free kick in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Aviator Athletic's Jim Spiering nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roel van der Stoel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 23rd minute, Aviator Athletic's Frits Derksen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roel van der Stoel. Roel van der Stoel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Peter Wilson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastiaan Zeegelaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elbert Zondervan in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Wilson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 35 minutes into the game, Aviator Athletic's Jim Spiering nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roel van der Stoel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Aviator Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jim Spiering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roel van der Stoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frits Derksen in the 60th minute of the match.
