In the 4th minute Jelle Ottens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent Hesseling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pascall Thomasse during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hargen HC booed when Sibenlo HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascall Thomasse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacobus van Rhijn hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Hans-Cees Colen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hargen HC's Vincent Hesseling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harris Zon in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Elco Abbenbroek made a precise shot to the right of Melvin Dongen. Sibenlo HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 32nd minute, Ryan Beukenkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Jan Blanc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sibenlo HC's goalkeeper Melvin Dongen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elco Abbenbroek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Melvin Dongen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Melvin Dongen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Otto Heebels. Melvin Dongen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paul Meijeringh went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute, Jan Blanc made a precise shot to the right of Vincent Hesseling. Hargen HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Elco Abbenbroek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Melvin Dongen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melvin Dongen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elco Abbenbroek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Hargen HC defense, Jan Blanc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vincent Hesseling. The Hargen HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vincent Hesseling should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sibenlo HC's zone, Elco Abbenbroek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melvin Dongen came out of the goal and Elco Abbenbroek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Sibenlo HC's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Ruhland came free, but Melvin Dongen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Hargen HC's Ryan Beukenkamp slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Melvin Dongen. That made the score 2-4 after 85 minutes of play. In the 92nd minute of the match Otto Heebels shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melvin Dongen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 93 played minutes Sibenlo HC got a freekick which was hit by Harris Zon. Albert Kort recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hargen HC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
