When Remond Aalst came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the hagar united fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remond Aalst couldn't finish the play. If Marcel Boeve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Mark van der Woude ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ton Bruin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sipke van Heiningen during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Sipke van Heiningen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenneth Taalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Jelte Bok shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allard Haar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allard Haar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Boeve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lovendaal's Allard Haar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sipke van Heiningen in the 35th minute of play. Bob Som's late challenge caught a hagar united's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bob Som helped the player get up and apologised. Bob Som kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With his leg Allard Haar managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when hagar united's Kenneth Taalman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Lovendaal's zone, Jelte Bok stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allard Haar came out of the goal and Jelte Bok tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allard Haar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kenneth Taalman in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

hagar united's Ton Bruin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save hagar united from getting a goal against them. Allard Haar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenneth Taalman in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Jelte Bok left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The hagar united fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jens Kooij took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ton Bruin. hagar united's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, hagar united's goalkeeper Ton Bruin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hans Willemse. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jelte Bok in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Allard Haar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The hagar united fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when hagar united's Jelte Bok looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sipke van Heiningen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When hagar united's Remond Aalst in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lovendaal's goalie prevented a goal.
