Jacob Peeters charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacob Peeters the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickael Ijsselhof in the 71st minute of play forced SV Ouwerkerk's goalkeeper Kevin Vennegoor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Albert Kort had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mickael Ijsselhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Kevin Vennegoor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rien Jonkman hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. When Filip Egberts fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Albert Kort could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Kevin Vennegoor made a huge save. Kevin Vennegoor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mickael Ijsselhof in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Mickael Ijsselhof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grootelint's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mickael Ijsselhof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mickael Ijsselhof's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kevin Vennegoor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Tommie Jongsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Schol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The SV Ouwerkerk fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grootelint were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
