The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karsten Geerts helped the player get up and apologised. If Jacco Klerk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. All Stars's Mitchell van Putten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacco Klerk in the 30th minute of play. Mitchell van Putten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennie Visscher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ronald Tevreden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bennie Visscher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchell van Putten having to interfere. After a rather tough play, IJmuiden's Rein Tinselboer got a free kick in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niels Bennink stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Rein Tinselboer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IJmuiden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rein Tinselboer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gert Jan Brürs charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gert Jan Brürs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of All Stars:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of IJmuiden:s goal. When the match had been going on for 54 minutes, IJmuiden's Lex de Vlieger got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mitchell van Putten. Bennie Visscher who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Mitchell van Putten when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Demy Rodenboog made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Tevreden in the 62nd minute of play. When IJmuiden's Jacco Klerk in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye All Stars's goalie prevented a goal. Ronald Tevreden might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Demy Rodenboog. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronald Tevreden ran back to his position shaking his head. Mitchell van Putten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bennie Visscher in the 86th minute. Bennie Visscher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchell van Putten having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ronald Tevreden managed to get in a good position for a shot. All Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Tevreden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Demy Rodenboog breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, All Stars's goalkeeper Mitchell van Putten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bennie Visscher. After 97 minutes, Filip Paauwe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the All Stars and the IJmuiden players grew even worse after the yellow card. Filip Paauwe kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. 100 minutes had been played when some careless play by All Stars's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lex de Vlieger was slow to take the kick. During this time IJmuiden's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Lex de Vlieger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but All Stars's Mitchell van Putten did a great save.
