Jan Zeeman scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bas Frankena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Hunsel SV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Britsum:s goal. Jan Zeeman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bas Frankena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk Jan Ponk in the 15th minute of the match. Britsum's Dirk Jan Ponk got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Britsum defense, Maurice Beuk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans Oosterveld. The Britsum fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans Oosterveld should have stopped the shot. After 27 minutes, Dirk Jan Ponk made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Hunsel SV's Bas Frankena tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Britsum's Dirk Jan Ponk got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jan Zeeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bas Frankena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dirk Jan Ponk, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Dirk Jan Ponk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bas Frankena having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dirk Jan Ponk was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Zeeman in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bas Frankena saved Hunsel SV from getting behind. In the 54th minute, Kristian Schouten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Britsum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk Jan Ponk in the 58th minute of play forced Hunsel SV's goalkeeper Bas Frankena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bas Frankena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dirk Jan Ponk, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When Jan Zeeman came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Britsum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Zeeman couldn't finish the play. After having played for 80 minutes, Dirk Jan Ponk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Britsum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dirk Jan Ponk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dolf Zijden struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Hans Oosterveld didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hunsel SV. 91 minutes into the match, Hunsel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Kristian Schouten came free, but Bas Frankena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk Jan Ponk in the 93rd minute of play forced Hunsel SV's goalkeeper Bas Frankena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Hunsel SV's goalkeeper Bas Frankena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Zeeman. Britsum's Hans Oosterveld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Beuk in the 95th minute of play. When the match was over Britsum could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hunsel SV throughout the match.
