Olaf Driel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cees Wijker having to interfere. Henk-Jan Veenker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Cees Wijker made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilfred Schaars to make the kick off. Cees Wijker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karel Westerhof in the 52nd minute of the match. Stephan Hulzebos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ab Even in the 57th minute. Cees Wijker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerwin Cornelisse, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Gerwin Cornelisse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute of the match Marco Vledder sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stephan Hulzebos skillfully saved the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Gerwin Cornelisse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cees Wijker. fc.arsenal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerwin Cornelisse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When the referee ended the match the Maasbommel SV players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
