Lex Adams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathijs van Dijk, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Gooitzen van Zijl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Langeroord HC's Jelle van Nistelrooij in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Sassenheim FC's zone, Gooitzen van Zijl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gooitzen van Zijl got free with Bertus Zoetmulder in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Jelle van Nistelrooij's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bertus Zoetmulder was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Langeroord HC!
