V.V. Extreme's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sassenheim FC the free kick. Christiaan Kamps hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 15 minutes of play V.V. Extreme's Arie Hillen was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Jorn Wolf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carsten Bruintjes having to interfere. Sassenheim FC's Bertus Zoetmulder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiaan Stuijvenberg in the 26th minute of play. Christiaan Stuijvenberg took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bertus Zoetmulder. Bertus Zoetmulder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tonny van Basten hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Sassenheim FC's Bertus Zoetmulder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiaan Stuijvenberg in the 32nd minute of play. Karsten Salens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Bertus Zoetmulder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sassenheim FC's Rik Lemmen got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th match minute, V.V. Extreme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernst Som to maneuver through the defense. Luuk Elders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Bertus Zoetmulder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bertus Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luuk Elders, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. V.V. Extreme were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Sassenheim FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jorn Baalen took the corner. The corner led V.V. Extreme's Andreas van Halst to fire away a dangerous shot which Bertus Zoetmulder despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christiaan Stuijvenberg made a kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Christiaan Stuijvenberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Bertus Zoetmulder however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Sassenheim FC's Bertus Zoetmulder got control of the ball when Christiaan Stuijvenberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Christiaan Stuijvenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Christiaan Stuijvenberg came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the V.V. Extreme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christiaan Stuijvenberg couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Luuk Elders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Bertus Zoetmulder managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when V.V. Extreme's Christiaan Stuijvenberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jorn Wolf scored 1-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carsten Bruintjes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mathijs van Dijk struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Carsten Bruintjes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sassenheim FC. When Christiaan Stuijvenberg came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the V.V. Extreme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christiaan Stuijvenberg couldn't finish the play. Christiaan Stuijvenberg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Bertus Zoetmulder skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jorn Wolf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Stefan Klok had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in V.V. Extreme's zone, Mathijs van Dijk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carsten Bruintjes came out of the goal and Mathijs van Dijk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Christiaan Stuijvenberg notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sassenheim FC's Bertus Zoetmulder. Bertus Zoetmulder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Sassenheim FC's Bertus Zoetmulder got control of the ball when Andreas van Halst tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christiaan Stuijvenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. V.V. Extreme played a much better game than Sassenheim FC and deserved their victory. The Sassenheim FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
