The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emil Aerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boukjan van Westerop, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 8 minutes of play, Dunsborg V.V.'s Stelian Bostan made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerrie Boswijk was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dunsborg V.V.'s Reinier Severijnse was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Gerrie Boswijk was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Reinier Severijnse capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reinier Severijnse really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Stelian Bostan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dunsborg V.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Stelian Bostan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerrie Boswijk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Bajum SV's zone, Reinier Severijnse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerrie Boswijk came out of the goal and Reinier Severijnse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tom Jakobsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinier Severijnse got free with Gerrie Boswijk in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Bajum SV's Philip de Bruin got a free kick in the 27th minute. If Reinier Severijnse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. Reinier Severijnse struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Gerrie Boswijk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunsborg V.V.. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reinier Severijnse was the one to do the kick off. Reinier Severijnse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrie Boswijk having to interfere. Gerrie Boswijk came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Dunsborg V.V.'s Reinier Severijnse. But to his dismay, Reinier Severijnse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Dunsborg V.V.'s Modeste Piazza got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Reinier Severijnse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerrie Boswijk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Reinier Severijnse came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Dunsborg V.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinier Severijnse couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Bajum SV defense, Tom Jakobsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerrie Boswijk. The Bajum SV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerrie Boswijk should have stopped the shot. After having played for 89 minutes, Freek de Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunsborg V.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Freek de Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Bajum SV's goal looked a bit too open when Stelian Bostan came free, but Gerrie Boswijk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerrie Boswijk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reinier Severijnse went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dunsborg V.V. fully deserved thier win.
