Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lennart Bults took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Maarten Kielstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Maes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 minutes, Lennart Bults made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Veuten's Marcel Pik tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcel Pik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Bults, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The supporters of Putten HC booed when Veuten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tjeerd van den Akker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Lennart Bults dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcel Pik, 2-0. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Putten HC's goalkeeper Andreas Maes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Veuten's Marcel Pik got control of the ball when Mathijs Eiting tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Teo Ijsselhof came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Veuten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Ijsselhof couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Maarten Kielstra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veuten's supporters rose to their feet, but Maarten Kielstra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Maes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teo Ijsselhof was the one to do the kick off. Lennart Bults received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Marcel Pik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60thth minute of the game Mathijs Eiting who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Veuten's Marcel Pik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Karel de Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Veuten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Putten HC the free kick. 66 minutes into the game, one of Veuten:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some careless play in the Veuten defense, Mathijs Eiting kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Pik. The Veuten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Pik should have stopped the shot. If Maarten Kielstra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Veuten's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
