In the 44thth minute of the game Emil Andriessen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lutte's Bertus Rodenberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Huub Okkes made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Lutte's Hubert Rogaars got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Lutte's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Emil Andriessen scored to the left of an out of position Bertus Rodenberg, making the score, 0-1. Jan-Peter den Hartog thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Bertus Rodenberg, a very annoying self made goal in the 69th minute which led to 0-2. 76 minutes into the game, Emil Andriessen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lochtenburg HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lutte the free kick. After 82 played minutes Lochtenburg HC got a freekick which was hit by Gert Ros. Sipke Huisman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huub Okkes in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Andriessen in the 96th minute of play forced Lutte's goalkeeper Bertus Rodenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lochtenburg HC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
